Nontyphoidal (NTS) are the leading cause of foodborne infections worldwide and a major cause of bloodstream infections in infants and HIV-infected adults in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Typhimurium (serogroup B) and Enteritidis (serogroup D) are the most common serovars in this region.
