The type of electron acceptor was a crucial factor in regulating the methanogenic process of anaerobic hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) degradation. The combined methods of biodegradation experiments and thermodynamic calculations were applied to explore the effects of different electron acceptors on methanogenic HPAM degradation.
