摘要

The acrosome is a specialized organelle that covers the anterior region of the sperm nucleus, and plays an essential role in mammalian fertilization. Although acrosome biogenesis is an important aspect of spermiogenesis, the molecular mechanism that regulates this event remains unknown. In the present study, we identified a novel gene, Fam170b (family with sequence similarity 170, member B), exclusively expressed in mouse testes. Fam170b expression first started at postnatal week 3, and increased in an age-dependent manner until plateauing in adulthood.
