Enterokinase Animal-Free, His, Bovine

GenScript Enterokinase Animal-Free, His, Bovine is the light chain of recombinant bovine enterokinase that is a single glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 200 amino acids and is produced under animal free process, which is more friendly and safer for drug or vaccine development, manufacture and other applications. This product is designed with a 6 × His tag for further removing from the digestion system by being captured by Ni2+ affinity chromatography.

Target Background Enterokinase (EK) is a serine protease produced by cells of the duodenum, and is involved in mammalian digestion. It plays the role of turning trypsinogen to the active form of trypsin, and indirectly activates the pancreatic digestive enzymes. Enterokinase is a specific protease that cleaves after a lysine at its cleavage site: Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys. Enterokinase does not function if the cleavage site is followed by a proline.
GenScript’s Enterokinase Animal-Free, His, Bovine is the light chain catalytic subunit of bovine enterokinase consisting of a single glycosylated polypeptide chain containing Ile801-His1035 (Accession # P98072). This recombinant protein is expressed in P. pastoris and purified to obtain high yields of the active enzyme. It is produced under an animal free process, and is suitable for drug and vaccine development, manufacture and other applications. This product is designed with a C-terminal 6 × His tag and can be removed after cleavage by Ni2+ affinity chromatography in resin (Cat. No. L00223) or magnetic beads (Cat. No. L00295).
